Guyana on show in St. Lucia

The first ever Guyana Trade Show featuring over fifty manufacturers and suppliers of Guyanese Products and services will be presented to the St Lucian business community and general public over the period 25 – 27 February 2005 at the Indies Complex in Rodney Bay.

The Trade Show branded “GUYANA ON SHOW” is being organised by the Guyana Government’s Investment Agency called GO-INVEST along with Guyana’s Honorary Consul to St Lucia Mr Lokesh Singh.

The concept of the Trade Show is to increase Guyana’s exports to St Lucia and to sensitise the St Lucian community to the various products and services produced and available from Guyana. Exhibitors will also be looking to establish stronger trading links with their St Lucian business partners for the distribution of their Guyanese made products.

The Show will be officially opened on Friday 25th February at 10.00 am and will be open from 10 am through 10.00 pm daily over the three day period. Major focus is being placed on the expansion of trade in the new developing industries especially craft and souvenir items, fashion, lumber, processed seafood and agricultural produce among others. Tourism has also been attracting a lot of interest and a number of the tourist resorts and the Guyana Tourism Authority will be showcasing Guyana as a tourist destination.

St Lucian business persons are advised to use this opportunity to establish similar connections with their Guyanese counterparts to improve on the export potential of St Lucian products to Guyana.
