NO PAIN, NO GAIN, SACRIFICE IS NECESSARY
TO ACHIEVE GREATNESS!!!

To my readers everywhere, HAPPY EASTER, He reigns!
At this time of year, Christians around the world celebrate the promise of eternal life. There are many lessons to be learnt from the period of Lent and Easter. From sacrifice to celebration. Jesus suffered and died and rose again, and now reigns for evermore. The Easter story is for everyone to benefit from whether in business or any other endeavour.

The greatest stories told in business are based on sacrifice and success. Sacrifice is a prerequisite to success, someone has to pay the price. Joy cometh in the morning. How sweet it is to be victorious!

From time to time, I will feature outstanding businesspersons in this column, after all we need role models in life, and business is no exception. This week I am pleased to introduce to you a young man who is the embodiment of all the basic ingredients for success that I write about. His name is John Honora. He is a young, dynamic Entrepreneur who is creative and not afraid to be a leader. In a short time in business, he was recognized for his special gift of taking simple ideas and making them stand out.

His first major venture was Beach Comfort providing deck chairs to tourists on the beach. His success in this business earned him the following awards:
1997: Most outstanding small business in the tourism sector – SLHTA
1999; Most outstanding / innovative small business – SLISBA
His pioneering spirit opened up a new business to many other operators and at one stage the competition was very fierce but John is still the leader. He is always thinking about new ways to attract and maintain customers.

His interest in animals also earned him recognition.
2004; World Food Day, Most outstanding Farmer. Instrumental in setting up Ruminant Association.
This award was in recognition of the assistance he gave to fellow goat farmers to upgrade their stock by working closely with the Livestock Division of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Over the past ten years Mr. Honora has maintained a continuous relationship with the St. Lucia Industrial and Small Business Association (SLISBA) and has served at the Executive level most of the time. He is currently the 2nd Vice President.

Mr. Honora’s most recent investment is in Refilling Computer Printer Cartridges, a project tried by many persons but they all failed, many times frustrating their customers and in some cases damaging their equipment. John diligently searched for a solution and found the right technology that will cut the cost of cartridges by more than 50%. What is most important is that he is able to refill all types of cartridges. There are many times when printers are down for weeks because cartridges are not available locally. The name of his new venture is INKSPOT, located on the ground floor of American Drywall Building in Vide Boutielle, Castries. Tel: 453-6006.

This young gentleman is a devoted Christian, dedicated to family, a community worker, committed to excellence and an example to young people. St. Lucia needs more John Honora. He knows what sacrifice is all about, he has jumped several hurdles and stood up for what is right, fought many battles but finds the will to stay ahead of the game. He is one businessperson who believes in the principle “Do it right the first time”.

Keep the Faith, God is in Charge! He reigns!!!
