THE BRAINSTORMING MASTERMIND GROUP IS NOW REALITY!!!
The Brainstorming Mastermind Group was officially launched at the Bay Gardens Lantana Room on Wednesday, 18th February, 2009. The meeting was well attended and professionals/entrepreneurs in the furniture, ICT and real estate sub sectors were well represented.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Martin Satney of SATGRO Solutions Ltd. and the key note address was delivered by Mr. Terrence Elliot, Managing Director of Converge Solutions Inc. who addressed the gathering on the topic “The role of Technology in a Global Economy – St. Lucia’s Position†Mr. Elliot left no doubt in his listeners’ minds that technology is the way to go. He hinted that his company will be launching a website during the 30th Anniversary celebrations that will promote St. Lucia’s products and services around the world. Attendees gave immediate commitment to participating in the programme when it becomes operational.
Founder of the group Edward Harris was encouraged by the level of interest shown in the initiative and noted that the group will share techniques that will give members a positive outlook on life and expose them to opportunities to make full time/passive income. Affirmation and goal setting will be used to build confidence to achieve success and exposure to ground floor opportunities in global businesses will be the vehicle for generating income. Technology will be fully utilized for realizing financial benefits.
Testimonies on the importance of networking were shared by Mr. Lynch Thornille, a very successful young Realtor/Entrepreneur and Mr. Cuthbert John, an ICT and Project Management Consultant who is introducing to St. Lucia the LEAN Concept for improving efficiency in businesses.
Mr. Hilton Jn Baptiste, President of SLISBA applauded the Founder for introducing a very timely initiative, alluding to the state of the global economy. He said the need for business persons and professionals to come together and brainstorm cannot be over emphasized. He moved a Vote of Thanks on behalf of attendees.
The audience was made up of several Caricom Nationals which augers well for the future expansion of the group beyond St. Lucia. The first meeting of the group will be held shortly. There has never been a time that professionals and business persons need to be talking with each more than now. It is heartening to see that some business persons are recognising the need and doing something about it. The Furniture Manufacturers are making a serious attempt to form an Association and they are encouraged by SMA and SLISBA to ensure that their attempt this time will be successful. Mr. St. Brice is heading a three man committee to put arrangements in place. The attendance at the meeting held on 17/2/09 at the Bay Gardens Inn was encouraging. The meeting was addressed by Officials from the Export Development Unit of the OECS and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College who offered assistance to the group once they are organized. Miss Ava Marius is the Officer responsible for the furniture sector in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Consumer Affairs. She has worked tirelessly to assist the sector. It is now up to the persons in the sector to help themselves.
