Winners Emerge at the 5th Annual St. Lucia Business Awards!!

Castries, St. Lucia – January 27, 2013 – Live from The Gaitey on Rodney Bay, Bay Gardens Resorts emerged the Business of the Year winner amongst the thirty four different companies making submissions at the 5th Annual St. Lucia Business Awards. The gala event was held on Saturday January 25, 2014, as the closing event of Nobel Laureate Week.

The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce hosted another evening of excellence which was again broadcasted live by The Wave 94.5 93.7 FM, and across St. Lucia and St. Vincent on Choice TV and www.choice39.tv powered by LIME. From the Karib Cable powered by Columbus Communication Welcome Reception and Red Carpet which started at 7:00 p.m. to the actual Awards Ceremony and on to the Digicel After Party, it was a night of style, glitz and glamor, with well-deserved recognition for Corporate St. Lucia.

The lively Red Carpet was a delight where guests were hounded for photographs and snatched by the media for live interviews on their way to the official Award Ceremony. Red Carpet hosts Onika and Shayne kept viewers engaged and into the Red Carpet atmosphere. The Awards Ceremony was hosted for the second consecutive year by the duo of Richard Peterkin and Sharon Williams. As usual Peterkin’s wit kept the mood light and entertaining.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by outstanding students from the St Lucia School of Music, Sarai I’Shyne and Shanne James.

Over 300 persons from Corporate St. Lucia attended the event where thirteen awards were presented and two illustrious giants of the business community were recognized for lifetime achievements. The winners for the 2014 St. Lucia Business Awards are:

8. Award for Excellence in Human Resource Development: Sandals Resorts International

9. Award for Marketing Excellence: Sugar Beach A Viceroy Resort

10. Award for Corporate Leadership: Chester Hinkson, Bank of Nova Scotia

11. Award for Corporate Social Responsibility: International American University (IAU)College of Medicine

12. Green Award: Blue Print Construction LTD

13. Idea of the Year Award: Cutty Ranks Barber Shop

There were three repeat winners in First Citizens Investment Services, for Service Excellence; Kurt Elibox: Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Sandals retained the Excellence in Human Resource Development Award.
