THE GUYANA – ST. LUCIA ASSOCIATION
OPEN TO MEMBERSHP BY ALL RESIDENTS OF ST. LUCIA

   Just under a month since the election of the 2004/2005 Executive of the Association, the second Executive Board Meeting was held in the office of Mr. Lokesh Singh, Honorary Counsel of Guyana to St. Lucia on Tuesday, 13/7/04.

   For sometime there exists the illusion that the Association is only for Guyanese. The Executive seeks to dispel this myth and take this opportunity to invite non-Guyanese to participate in the activities of the Association.

   The President – Mr. Edward Harris met with former members of the Southern Chapter on Sunday, 11/7/04 and plans are afoot to resuscitate the Chapter. A Steering Committee was formed and is headed by Dr. Mervyn Devonish, supported by Ms. Savitri Saywack, Mrs. Serajie Deonandan, Messrs Deonarine Ragnauth and Christopher Persaud.

   The membership drive is continuing and members are expected to derive substantial benefits from the Association. Members are being issued with membership cards that will entitle them to discounts from businesses and service providers.

   In an effort to keep in touch with the membership, a monthly Newsletter will be circulated among the membership commencing July 2004. A MSN Group is already established and is open to all residents of goodwill to become members and post stories on the Message Board.
