In the USA, the COVID 19 pandemic continues to be a major concern as citizens are no longer maintaining the protocols due to their involvement in the several protests, and only yesterday political gathering expected to be around 19,000 persons with no regard for the established protocols, a situation which is of no interest to the President who believes the whole thing is a hoax, even though he has invested a substantial amounts of the country’s funds in finding a new virus vaccine, protective clothing for front line staff, etc.
These mixed signals do not help the cause as in times like these, the world needs strong leadership, especially coming from the USA.
Black Lives Matter
What started in the USA has now reached many capitals of the world. All hands are on deck, the private sector leaders are taking some strong initiatives to level the playing field. Even prominent Black Americans are speaking out.
The timing of all the Racial Protests and the reactions from community and business leaders are very encouraging. There is hope for social change for the suppressed peoples everywhere.
A change has got to come.
Politics in Guyana:
Like the pandemic, where no one knows when it will end, no one knows when the elections in Guyana will be declared. Last week, we taught we would have had a government by weekend but instead we saw a situation where the principal stakeholders were back in court.
Conclusion:
Let us continue to enjoy this special day for Fathers as we celebrate with friends and family.
The citizens of the world are becoming restless. However, this too shall pass, although we know not when.
Let us continue to pray for and with each other, and may you have a week filled with Miracles!
