\nThe State of the Pandemic in Saint Lucia:
\nSaint Lucia – Simply Beautiful and Blessed! This past week St. Lucia, three cases of the virus were detected. However, our people have strong immune system and I am hopeful that we will soon return to a COVID 19 FREE status. We must guard this privileged status with all our might.
\nWhile we are reminded that COVID 19 is real, we are getting ready to welcome visitors once again to our shores effective 9th July, 2020. The government has identified properties that have been approved and the necessary protocols will be in place to welcome them.
\nThe discussion continues as many citizens try to justify opening up the country which most of us will agree, it is necessary to maintain the economic well being of the country.
\nCurrent Status of the COVID 19 in the USA:
\nThe situation continues to be volatile as it relates COVID 19, however the leadership of the USA continues to behave in a manner as though the COVID 19 pandemic does not exist. In the past two weeks, President Trump addressed two gatherings averaging 7,000 attendees, most of whom wore no mask and did not observe social distancing.
\nThe medical professionals are on edge as to what the outcome of these gatherings will be in the next 2 weeks. In the meantime, the Europeans have blocked entry of Americans to their countries. This should have been a wakeup call to the leadership of the USA. Just two days ago, President Trump totally ignored the reality that 37 states are experiencing a surge with the virus. We must pray that good sense prevails and COVID 19 is attacked from the highest level of leadership in the USA. It is a war and the commander in chief must be engaged.
\nBlack Lives Matter
\nIn spite of the large protests against 4th of July celebrations, the nationwide massive protests are now in decline and the work of ensuring effective legislation now begins. Some steps to deal with Racial Injustices as it relates to Police brutality and killings are already being taken up at the State level. The Democrats in the House have come up with sweeping recommendations to ensure the Police do the job they were recruited to do – which is to protect to people. The Democrats are ready to do business, therefore it is very necessary that VP Biden becomes the next President in the White House.
\nPolitics in Guyana:
\nLast week, we hoped that a solution would have been clear by Friday but instead we have to await the ruling of the CCJ this week – July 8, 2020. I say no more but pray that the matter would have been resolved when next we meet on this programme.
\nElections in Trinidad & Tobago:
\nElections set for August 10, 2020.
\nWhat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s happening in Saint Lucia!
\nApart from the three new cases of the Coronavirus which I am confident will be cured, Saint Lucia is fighting back and getting ready to do business. Our people seem comfortable wearing masks and most public places have controlled entrances where you are greeted with hand sanitiser and reminded of social distancing. We must remember not to let our guards down.
\nThe budget estimates will kick in and road works are continuing apace. The construction sector is heating up. NIC has extended its assistance to September 30, 2020.
\nWhat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s next on the cards? We will be much better informed when we meet next week.<\/p>\n
Current Global Anxiety:
\nIf anyone should ask me what keeps me up at nights, I would hasten to say \u00e2\u20ac\u201c MONEY! I am proud of the fact that when this program began, my first topic was on the topic, generating wealth through the Stock Market, and I also alluded to FOREX Trading, Mutual Funds, Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. However, most of the avenues for investing are based on long term strategies – buy and hold, and constant development. However, what I wish to draw to your attention today is – generating cash flow with a side hustle that can be so viable that it can provide seed capital to start your dream investment.
