BUSINESS IS PLAGUED BY DECEPTIVE ENTREPRENEURS!

EDWARD HARRIS AT LARGE!

BUSINESS IS PLAGUED BY DECEPTIVE ENTREPRENEURS!

How do you know a deal is good for you or it is an outright SCAM? Due Diligence is the answer. Keep emotions out of business transactions. At all times the buyer must beware and take steps to ensure that whatever business he or she is embarking up is being offered by a reputable company or individual.

In one on one communication, the power of words can be very effective. Some salesmen and deal makers have the ability to wear you down to the point where you feel that you are under a spell and you take action to satisfy them rather than in your best interest.

The internet is a powerful medium for high pressure sales which is greatly assisted by credit card transactions. The ease of doing business is definitely the unique selling proposition of Internet marketing. Unethical businesspersons doing business on the internet are getting better every passing day and persons seeking business opportunities on the internet must be weary of their deception. In today’s business environment, it is about immediacy, act now! There are some internet businesses that even when you close the page, a pop up page comes up offering you a final discounted deal.

The promotional material for some business opportunities are several pages long, repetition, repetition. Recently all that I do is read the first two paragraphs and scroll down the pages to see how much it costs to participate in the programme. It never ceases to amaze me how a free offer is swiftly converted to an investment proposition. That’s a savvy American approach to doing business. It is all about getting you to reach for your credit card. The Fortune 500 businesses in America have successfully orchestrated a marketing strategy to get people not only in their country but around the world to become dependent on the use of credit cards. I experienced during a trip to the USA late last year that it was more costly to settle my hotel bill in cash than by credit card. But that is just part of a bigger plan by the hotels to get credits that can be used for many business related incentives offered by the credit card companies. This is one modern day system that while it has brought about a no hassle approach to doing business, it has created financial chaos in the lives of many.

I must publicly state that with all my experiences in doing business on the internet, I am still caught in deceptive internet scams. If you play with fire, it is very possible that you will be burnt. This week I came across what I consider to be one of the best internet business propositions that I have been introduced to. It is a real winner but there are serious flaws in its execution. This was one time that because I thought it was too good to be true, I reverted to due diligence with an internet search that brought me down to reality and caused me to recover a part of my money. Internet due diligence on marketing companies can be accessed at www.mlmwatchdog.com .

These are interesting times when fly by night gangsters are willing to fleece others for a short period of basking on some beach and having fun, and end up spending many years behind bars for fraud. It is a terrible mind set. Is spending a few months of the good life worth several years in gaol? However that is the heart of man. It is a deceptive world of business. You never know who you are dealing with. I predict that the time is coming when due diligence will be as popular as most other services that are in great demand. There are businesses currently that offer inspection services to verify that what you ordered is what is shipped. This is particularly applicable to the purchase of used and refurbished equipment.

If you are an investor it is very likely that from time to time you will strike a bad deal. The stock market rises and falls by statements in the media or predictions by investment analysts. It has happened in the past and will continue to happen because of greed. Even once considered reputable businesses get involved in business programmes that push them over the top. The sub prime mortgage programme is one such disaster for investors. In a bad deal you never walk away with losing something, sometimes it is your integrity which was built up over many years.

Here is my selected quote for the week:
ACCEPT CHANGE WITH A SMILE
Sooner or later a crisis will enter your life, and how you meet it
determines your future happiness and success.
Since the beginning of time, everyone has been called upon
to meet such a crisis.
A closer look will show you that most “crisis situations”
are opportunities to either advance or stay where you are.
Indeed, most changes in your life will take place out of either
‘inspiration’ or ‘desperation.’
Whatever comes your way, give it meaning and transform it
into something of value.
Your personal growth is the process of responding positively to change.
A precious stone cannot be polished without friction,
nor humanity perfected without trials.
