RAYNEAU GAJADHAR AT IT AGAIN –
DEVELOPING A NEW BREED OF ENTREPRENEURS!!!

It is definite that some of the best ideas evolve from periods of crisis. Great Entrepreneurs think beyond the immediate and come up with business ideas to meet their customers on the other side of the bridge. What will be the state of your business when the crisis is over?

Earlier this year Mr. Rayneau Gajadhar, Managing Director of Construction & Industrial Equipment Ltd. (CIE), a member of RG Group of Companies launched a Stimulus Package for the Construction Sector which was well received by persons seeking to acquire property up to EC$350,000.00.

Currently, Mr. Gajadhar is promoting an initiative for 2009 School Leavers with business ideas who have the qualities to be engaged in business. He is interested in developing a group of young Entrepreneurs whose projects are based on innovation and creativity – thinking out of the box. It is obvious that at some point the copycat approach will have to end. New Thinking, New Ideas!!!

Mr. Gajadhar has put his money where his mouth is. Talk is cheap. He has put up the sum of EC $50,000.00 which will give to support a minimum of 10 young Entrepreneurs. The success of this initial programme could well be the beginning of great things for the young people of St. Lucia. Entrepreneurship is the life blood of all capitalist economies.

It is always with great pleasure that I welcome such news from Entrepreneurs who are willing to go beyond the usual hand outs and do something tangible to improve the lives of those who have the ability to do better but lack the support.

The Stimulus Package for the Construction Sector is supported by other businesses which provide building materials at reduced prices and from lending institutions that provide loans and mortgages. It would be great if the same level of collaboration could be extended to the current Entrepreneurship Programme.

It is all about giving back. Corporate Social Responsibility in action. Providing real LEADERSHIP. I listened to Mr. Gajadhar on the AGENDA with Dave Samuels on Thursday, 17/9/09 and I am hopeful that a number of persons made a commitment to volunteer their services as coaches for the young Entrepreneurs. This programme has the ability to be expanded. Every applicant may not be helped financially in this initial programme but should be coached to understand fully, the implications of doing business in today’s competitive environment.

The importance of thinking out of the box and seeking out new ideas cannot be over emphasized. Exposure to diverse businesses in various countries, visit to trade exhibitions, business missions, networking must be tools of Entrepreneurs of this era. There is no better time to bring your creative instincts to the fore. When the going gets rough, the rough gets going! These are difficult times that need real solutions.

The month of September has passed its half way mark, everyone is fully aware that the financial crisis has finally reached our shores. The question is – what are you doing to improve your level of efficiency in your home, at your place of employment or in your business? In every aspect of existence, there is the call for discipline.

Hereunder is my selected motivational piece of the week.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK.
It’s a psychological law that whatever you desire to accomplish
you must first impress upon your subconscious mind.
Your inner thoughts can cause you to be rich or poor,
loved or unloved, happy or unhappy,
attractive or unattractive, powerful or weak.
What you impress upon your mind, you’ll inevitably become.
Relentless, repetitive self talk will change your self image.
You’ll affect your subconscious
mind with verbal repetition.
Constant repetition carries conviction.
When you change your values
you’ll change your behavior.
Start thinking of yourself as becoming
the person you want to be.
Self suggestion will make you
the master of yourself.
You can become whatever you want to be.
When you believe you can, you can.
