Guyana – St. LUCIA ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES
THE 40th ANNIVERSARY OF GUYANA’S INDEPENDENCE
The Executive Board and General Membership of The Guyana – St. Lucia Association take pride in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Guyana’s Independence.
British Guiana became an independent State on the 26th of May, 1966 and changed its name to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, now known as Guyana, the only English Speaking Nation on the mainland of South America.
To mark this historic milestone, the Association will be hosting an Evening of Celebration and Awards Ceremony which will be followed by a Cocktail Reception on Saturday, the 20th of May, 2006 at the Dame Pearlette Primary School at Union, Castries. The programme of activities will commence at 6.00pm sharp.
Members of the Association and well wishers are cordially invited to attend.
