2013 St. Lucia Business Awards, Officially Launched The 2013 St. Lucia Business Awards was officially launched on Saturday 1st September 2012 at the Piano Piano Champagne Bar at Cotton Bay Hotel, Cas en Bas. The Launching Ceremony took the form of a short Press Briefing which flowed into a pleasant and enjoyable, Cocktail Party.

The President of the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture in welcoming guests to the 2013 St. Lucia Business Awards announced that there would be a new twist to the already impressive Awards Competition. Public Sector Agencies will be permitted to compete and will be assessed based on their contribution to improving St. Lucia’s Ranking in the World Banks’ “Ease of Doing Business Ranking.”

The Chairperson of the Awards Committee, Dr. Charmaine Gardner, in addition to reminding the gathering of the level of effort always given to ensuring that the adjudication process was credible, independent and transparent, also informed that the application forms were once again revised to ensure balance and user friendliness. Dr. Gardner announced that the Award for Exporter of the Year would be separated into two categories “Exporter of the Year Goods” and “Exporter of the Year Services”. The St. Lucia Business Awards will also see the introduction of a “Youth Entrepreneur Award”, specifically geared at recognizing young promising St. Lucian Entrepreneurs.  

In preparing participants of the St. Lucia business community for the Awards, a workshop will be held for all firms interested in participating in the Awards. Application Forms for the St. Lucia Business Awards are available on the St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce website www.stluciachamber.org.
