ST. LUCIA IS EXPERIENCING HEIGHTENED INVESTMENT INTERESTS!
It is simply fascinating to participate in Investment Meetings these days in St. Lucia. I had such an experience this week for three days. I was exposed to presentations made to a group of Investment Brokers and I wondered if I was in a different country. Some many projects were put on the table that will soon be on stream. Many of them will last between 2 to 5 years. St. Lucia is the country in the region that all eyes are on as it takes the lead in the development path, taking over from Barbados in the next few years.
Investments in commercial and touristic properties are showing up all over the island. Labour is being brought in to help out with the construction boom taking place. It is obvious that St. Lucia’s time has come and there is no stopping us now.
The people of St. Lucia had more than the observance of the 29th Anniversary of Independence on this occasion. It was a celebration of expansion. There are so many projects in the pipe line as Brother George would have said. Today, we hear about the redevelopment of the Castries Waterfront, Tunnel through the Barre de L’ Isle, Hess Oil Refinery, Deep Water Port in Cul de Sac, Ritz Carlton, Westin, Le Paradis, Raffles, Signature Golf Courses by the best known names, infrastructural development, new road route to Vieux Fort, additional flights from the USA and Europe, expanded relationship with Caribbean Airways, etc., etc.. I feel it wouldn’t be long below a solution is found for LIAT.
Saint Lucia Nice! Economic prospects for the future looks great and what is interesting, it is just the beginning of a long road of economic progress. These are exciting times. It is a great time to be living in St. Lucia.
Politically, Hon. Stephenson King is heading to the Party’s Convention unopposed for the leadership of the party in spite of the uncertainty which existed towards the run up to the nomination. There was no time that the SLP current leader Hon. Dr. Kenny Anthony was expected to be challenged in the run up for his party nomination.
The UWP has learnt to create a buzz and then do the obvious thing. They are bent on keeping the team in tact and run the government. Budget is around the corner and it will be very interesting to see what measures of meeting the expectations of the people emerge. In the meantime, life goes on and the people have a lot to be grateful for. The Investors are simply finding their way to St. Lucia, falling in love with the beauty of the island and make decisions to invest. This is good as employment opportunities will abound in the future.

There is never a dull moment in St. Lucia. This is a Magical period for St. Lucia’s economy and one which will continue for a long time. It is important to note that while Americans contribute 60% to our stop over visitors, Europeans are the big investors. Members of the Caribbean Diaspora are invited to take a serious look at St. Lucia and step forward to own a piece of the Rock. Come for St. Lucia Jazz and take some time off to look around the island and invest in property.
Keep the Faith, God is in Charge, Dream Big and Expect Miracles all the time!!!
