It is a lot of time to live through one year – what do you plan to do with it???
The New Year is very much with us. It came like a thief in the night and moving swiftly along. In a few days it will be the inauguration of the 44th President of the USA. The world is waiting and watching. The Arabs and the Israelis are fighting a full scale war while the world’s leaders take a hands off position because of the USA. President Elect Barack Obama refuses to be drawn into the discussion except to say that Israel has the right to defend itself.
While there is turmoil in many places around the world, it is still the crisis of the global economy with America in the spotlight that dominates the media. That is the case when the world is expecting leadership from the greatest nation which has faltered and will never be the same again. Things have changed and while at the beginning of last year, the preachers were labeling 2008 as the new beginning, it was really the end.
The year 2009 is the year when change will come to Washington and around the world, then we can HOPE again. A new world order will be unleashed. I will like to imagine a kinder and gentler world. What the world needs now is Love! I read the November/December 2008 Networking Times has two statements on the cover that captured my attention – “Why Every Success Story is a Love Story†and The Power of Love in Businessâ€. In these difficult times it has to be about caring and sharing. Social Responsible actions will be needed by all. All we need is Love!
What Love got to do with it? Business is all about making money. That was then. Today business is all about relationships. The success stories of this era of change will be produced by leaders with a new consciousness – Love one another. Treat your workers and customers fairly. Empathise with them; give them the same consideration that you expect.
I suggested that we set goals for 2009 rather than simply making resolutions and fail to follow through on them. How many of your goals took into consideration your relationship with other persons or was it all about you? In spite of the Doom and Gloom that we have become accustomed to hearing, with a change of direction away from greed and selfishness, we can be experiencing our best life yet. In times like these, creative ideas come to the fore and great achievements are recorded. I am optimistic about the future as I am convinced that when disaster strikes there is the opportunity to rebuild, and the possibility of building better than before.
A few weeks ago, I made the point that in times of recession and the fall out as a result people losing their jobs and having to cut back on their social activities, the MLM Industry experiences growth, not only more people entering the business but having money to purchase many items offered through the MLM system. We are witnessing the biggest numbers in any pre-launch in the history of MLM. In less than a month almost 100,000 people would have enrolled with the Web Prosperity programme which is expected to be launched on 13th January, 2009. The programme offers a suite of six totally integrated tools that will improve the efficiency of professionals and businesses persons.
One of my goals for this year is to establish a group of highly motivated, like minded people across Saint Lucia to explore the internet, and the principles of affirmation and goal setting. These persons must believe that they, not other people will have to open their own door to prosperity. The internet has opened up to us a realm of possibilities. We must make greater use of the Internet than we are currently doing. Social networking is channeling millions of dollars through relations on websites like Facebook, Plaxo, Twitter, MySpace, etc. It is time we wake up to this reality.
