GREEN IS NOT ONLY A COLOUR – IT’S A MOVEMENT!Â
It is my sincere hope that in spite of all the uncertainties and anxieties in our midst, my readers had an enjoyable and blessed Easter. Christians everywhere are enjoying a period of celebration because their Saviour lives, they can face tomorrow with confidence. What a glorious feeling? Well deserving in times like these.Â
The word Green has been buzzing around us for a while now. There is much talk about a Green Economy and even a Green (ISO) Standard. My question has always been how can I make money on this new/emerging trend? A few years ago, I became a fan of Troy Helming, the author of “The Clean Power Revolution†He challenged the US to utilize Wind & Hydrogen to become less vulnerable to foreign oil. I read his book and got involved in his programme for a short while but nothing was happening in this part of the world in relation to his innovative ideas.Â
Many will argue that the Green trend is no longer new or emerging but the reality of the situation is that we are just at the tip of the iceberg. The need for the developed countries to find an alternative to fossil fuel or at least try to minimize their dependence such fuel has never been more pressing. In recent weeks, the unrest in the Arab States has spurred increases in fuel prices, currently being quoted at USD113.00 with no end in sight. Still looking at the prospect of a business opportunity, I kept reading up on Green Opportunities but in recent months I intensified my search.Â
A few years ago, I attended an Environmental Conference in Martinique where scientists and industry practitioners gathered to discuss innovations in the building industry. I made friends with many professionals but there was a particular gentleman who sat next to me, he managed an agency in Canada that promoted environmental methods for Going Green. He is now a private consultant and started a Linkedin group – Strategies for a Low Carbon Economy in which I became one of the early members. Immediately, I posted a comment requesting assistance in finding investors for Green Projects in St. Lucia. I am currently reviewing a few responses. Â
I am still thinking, reading and posting comments, seeking a breakthrough in the Green Economy since the conventional economy is stagnated. There are cries everywhere that things are bad and there is no end in sight. The economies of the developing world are so fragile and with the fluctuation of the oil prices, with worse days ahead. These are the reasons why I am Going Green!Â
Keeping in the spirit of Easter, I didn’t go to church on Good Friday but I kept the day as holy as humanly possible. No meat, no alcohol, I abstained. I rested until sunset when I was awakened by a telephone call from the USA. I did not recognize the voice on the other side but the person quickly identified himself as Dr………and we entered into a conversation which in the end delivered a Green Opportunity to me. Subsequently he followed up with all the information I need to make an informed decision. In an attempt to arrive at a position I checked Google Search at www.google.com to find out what are the five (5) major commodities in the world at this time and here are the results: 1 Oil/petroleum products, 2 Coffee, 3 Steel and Infrastructure, 4 Gold  and 5 Wheat. The opportunity is in the number one commodity.Â
I will like to introduce to my readers a USA based company with an EPA registered product that is currently expanding globally  www.greenfootglobal.com/xlpro . This may be your opportunity to join the Green Movement, not as a spectator but as a player in a Green Industry.Â
It is that time of year when music is in the air. St. Lucia Jazz, the number one party in the Caribbean. This year marks 20 years of bringing Jazz to the nation and the world. Join me in welcoming the thousands of guests who will be visiting St. Lucia for the nine days of celebration. I love St. Lucia Jazz! Enjoy!  Â
Remember always to Keep the Faith, God is in Charge, Dream Big and expect Daily Miracles!Â
