THE TIME TO INVEST IS NOW!!!

It has taken much longer than I anticipated to bring me to this headline which was due to the disruptive political and economic developments in recent months in the U. S. A. and other parts of the world. Yes, the time to invest is now, as there has never been a better time in our lifetime to invest than now. To prove this fact, look at who is at the top of the list of richest persons in the world – it is Elon Musk.
The principle of Buying Low and Selling High is very relevant at this time. Certain types of investments are definitely in line with this trend. Demand is outstripping supply in many areas. Manufacturing and Commerce will prosper, and Business in general will be great. Better days are coming; the United States of America is back!
Nothing is stopping the U.S.A. from moving ahead with its economic agenda, and so is our CARICOM neighbour Guyana. With few exceptions, since the new variants have introduced themselves, restrictions have been placed on residents of some countries at home and others seeking to enter the U.S.A. Looking at cable news, we see President Biden and the officials around him are wearing their masks and maintaining social distancing, while carrying on the business of government – ever conscious of the presence of COVID 19.
There is no need for the average investor to panic in spite of the Reddit users on Wall Street Bets triggered a buying frenzy on GameStop, and as a result, some serious damage was done to the industry in general, and hedge funds in particular. The experts predict that this is just the beginning. However, the situation begs the question – is the Stock Market endangered by this development? The answer is NO! Life continues on Wall Street but one thing is certain, the Governments of the developed countries such as the U.S.A. and others will intervene and enact legislation to prevent this type of situation from happening in the future. Many times creative Entrepreneurs are ahead of Governments, with the latter having to play catch up. Very few things are perfect the first time. Even the great American Constitution needs to be revisited, especially after the experiences with President Donald J. Trump, his enablers, and supporters.
There is an urgent need to put our people back to work. Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! is no longer a slogan, it is now a reality. Most people must have a regular income to put food on the table, and pay their bills. Those who are in a position where they are able to maintain their jobs and receive wages and salaries at pre COVID 19 levels are very fortunate, while others take home reduced earnings or are working fewer hours. If there is one lesson to be learned from the instability of the JOB market during COVID 19 is to have one or more Side Hustles. Multiple streams of income is the answer to employment security whether it is investing in Stocks, Mutual Funds, Futures, etc., or Real Estate which is considered one of the most guaranteed form of investments. Beyond investments that require substantial funding, there are other businesses that can be just as profitable with smaller investments. Find a business that you are passionate about and go for it; even turning a hobby into a business.
The time is rife for community businesses to expand. Small shops and bakeries have led the way but have not moved along with the times. There is room for much improvement to the surroundings and the range of products being offered. It is time to turn Dancehalls into Discotheques, Bars into Game Rooms, introduce Pop Up Stores (method of taking your business to the people), by collaborating with established related businesses which should be aggressively promoted. Put your creative energy to work and become a business person with the joy of living life on your own terms. Take responsibility for your own survival and be successful in whatever endeavour you chose.
