MAKE 2012 YOUR YEAR OF INVOLVEMENT! 

Happy New Year to my readers everywhere! I wish above all things that you will Prosper and be in Health. It is my hope that you took the time off to review your failures and successes over the past 12 months, and really gave thought to your future, beginning with the year that lies ahead – 2012. It is Resolution Time, the time of year when you close the books on the past year and resolve to execute your best moves to ensure abundance in the New Year. Allow me to share with you a feeling that surrounds me – that the year 2012 will be a year of new beginnings. I feel the energy. I am high on the opportunities that I have identified over the years but are yet to be explored. Let me warn you that the days of the one man show are over, only comedians have an exclusive on that. It is truly a time for involvement and sharing. This is not a time to stand by and leave it to others to make St. Lucia a better place. 

The big winners in the year 2012 will be those persons who will come together to share their knowledge and to invest. I look forward to see more public companies, the introduction of Investment Clubs which can be the platform for bringing business persons together and ultimately be the driver of future investments among local Entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs in our midst must take collective responsibility for the economic and social progress of the nation. Established businesses must demonstrate that they are serious about their social responsibility. Business is not only about the bottom line. In spite of the world economic problems, investments are still being made and entrepreneurs around the globe are recording great successes. The same to a limited extent is happening here in St. Lucia. 

During the Christmas Holidays I received many telephone calls from my friends and business associates and it was not only about greetings for the Holidays, I was amazed at their optimism about doing business in 2012 and beyond, as they discussed possible areas of investments. The investment gurus are pointing to some investments in new technologies, including Voice Recognition Software which is certain to be a game changer. They are very excited about Micro Booms and oil and gas exploration in the United States of America. The outlook for businesses in the USA seems to be getting better and I am hopeful that House and Senate will find a way to put the people first.

I look forward to a new year of service. My involvement with young people seeking to advance a career in Entrepreneurship will be expanded and my TV Show – Let’s Talk Business on MBC Television, Channels 42 LIME and 52 Karibcable will be continued. My weekly column Harris at Large is gaining popularity and I am heartened by the responses I continue to receive. I will be updating my websites in the New Year and look forward to your participation.  I am very happy to contribute my two cents to the process. I sincerely wish that many others will join me in sharing their experiences.

   At any time you can decide to alter the course of your life. No one can ever take that away from you.

You can do what you want to do and be who you want to be.

   Nature is constantly at work around you. Character and destiny are her handiwork. She gives you love and hate, jealousy and reverence.

You have the power to choose which impulse you follow.

   While your character is formed by your circumstances, your desires can shape those circumstances.

The one thing over which you have absolute control is your own thoughts.

   It is this that puts you in a position to control your own destiny.

Your greatest power is the power to choose.

I feel even more compelled this year to draw to your attention the need for you to own a Bible and a Computer or have access to the latter to ensure that abundance will be yours in the New Year. These two items will be your pathway to success. Readers are Leaders and Knowledge is Power!
