FOUND A MLM BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE!!!
Unlike the popular trend of persons joining a cruise for fun and relaxation, I was on a working cruise, seeking to find an opportunity within the MLM industry. I am a subscriber to www.mlmwatchdog.com and I saw the MLM Cruise advertised on the website several months ago and decided to participate. Although at that time my motive was different, I was going to network on behalf of the company I was associated with but no more, just weeks before the commencement of the cruise, it folded. I was already committed to the cruise and paid for it so I changed my objective to seeking to find a MLM business opportunity.
I am not one to give up on my dreams easily. I spend time seeking out information on the internet and through the writings of experts in the field of my interests. It is important to understand that a few simple words can reinforced your thought on a subject or even change your circumstance in life. Although I have lost a lot of money in network marketing I am not about to give up. Because of the knowledge I have gained from reading on the subject of network marketing and my involvement in the industry, I feel confident that there must be a company out there that will deliver on its promises and afford me the opportunity to realize my dream in network marketing. I fully subscribe to Rod Cook’s statement that “Multi-Level Marketing is the Last Hope for the Little Man†Rod Cook is a MLM Consultant and a Founding Executive of Distributors Rights Association (DRA). I attended two meetings of the Association and was impressed with the work they are doing. It is a cruel world out there. Between the FDA and FTC citizens are being deprived of knowledge that can relieve their pain and suffering. Natural products need to be given a fair opportunity to compete alongside drugs. DRA is on course to get the recognition that natural products deserve.
For many years I watched the TV series – Love Boat and watched the tourist boats that berth alongside port Castries some days as many as five ships with over eight thousand passengers. Many times sharing the pavement with these tourists and admiring them and thinking when my day will come.
My day finally came on November 12 when I departed from Hewanorra International Airport, St. Lucia for Miami enroute to Tampa, Florida where I joined the Carnival Miracle for a one week cruise on Sunday, November 13, 2005 to sail the Western Caribbean. The ship was scheduled to sail to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya. Unfortunately, just weeks before the cruise Cozumel was ravished by hurricane Wilma which took away its tourist appeal. Cozumel is all about the destruction left in the path of Wilma. As if the destruction done to Cozumel was not enough when we got to Cost Maya the boat had to bypass that stop as the waves were too high and did not allow landing along side the berth. At the earlier stops tenders took the passengers ashore due to the size of the vessel.
In spite of the problems, most passengers were happy to stay on board and enjoy the many social offerings and of course the cuisine. When at sea or necessary to bypass a destination the Casino was opened all day. There were two Formal Evenings on the ship and those persons who did not have appropriate attire could have rented on board. The entertainment programme was great with some exceptional shows. The orchestra was great and the social director was fun to listen to. In spite of my busy networking schedule, I did find time to dine with great people and attend the shows. It afforded many an opportunity to live large. A cruise ship is simply a floating hotel and I was fortunate to be on a Five Star vessel – the Carnival Miracle.
I was a member of a group of MLM Executives and Distributors which is an annual affair and has been going on for the past seventeen years. This get together of persons in the MLM industry provides opportunities for Distributors to interact with Presidents, CEOs, top Executives, Trainers, Service Providers, etc., which are not normally available outside of such an environment.
On the second day at sea, the group got together for formal introduction and welcome speeches by the organizers (www.mlmcruise.com)which set the stage for the rest of the week. When my turn came to introduce myself, I said – “My name is Edward Harris and I am from the beautiful island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean and I am here seeking a MLM opportunity to take back to the Caribbean†That opened the flood gates of opportunity and I was bombarded on every side by individuals seeking to attract me to their businesses. As soon as the introductory meeting was finished, I was invited by a renowned doctor in the area of Wellness who showed me a system whereby I COULD MAKE TONS OF MONEY by just organizing wellness seminars for him. A commission of 50% of his fees sounds very attractive, doesn’t it? That entire afternoon was filled with appointments and it continued very much the same for the entire week.
The offers were for every type of opportunity available in network marketing. Fortunately, coming out of an experience of a failed company just weeks before the cruise and having an understanding of what type of company will provide the strongest appeal to my clients, I was focused on finding a company that has several categories of products that will give me an opening to approach health and other professionals whose practice would have clients who rely on their recommendations. This is a top down approach and while some of the experts will argue in favour of finding a company with only one category of products that appeal to a wide cross section of consumers would be the better approach, I feel that given the environment where I operate in the Caribbean that my approach is the right way to go. My objective for participating in the cruise has been achieved and now it is up to me to make the best of the opportunity by putting together a global organization, beginning with the Caribbean soliciting the support of my family, friends, business associates and well wishers. Whether your interest in a cruise is for business or pleasure or both, it is a must have experience that will linger on your mind for a life time. You will meet wonderful people who are always willing to meet new friends and share ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and over a meal or snack and in some cases proudly say, have lunch on me and do eat as much as you can. Apart from the great opportunity for meeting top executives in the MLM industry, I was given the opportunity to have an appointment with a life coach whose advice I will be forever thankful. I made many friends and received encouragement to be a winner in the industry. I look forward to being a part of the MLM cruise next year which can be booked at www.mlmcruise.com The organizers delivered on their promises and from my vantage point, the cruise was a great success. I had the pleasure of several meetings with Tom Schreiter, affectionately known as Big Al, a leading trainer in the MLM industry and President of a leading MLM company who was simply an inspiration. I take the privilege of suggesting to my readers that they seek out industry related cruises to expand their knowledge and be motivated by the success of others in their industry.
Life may lead you to some interesting place to fulfill your dreams such as I have by finding an opportunity that will afford me financial and time freedom, and allow me to do whatever I want, whenever I want, without thinking about time or money. It will of course take some hard work as network marketing is not easy but it is simple. I just have to become a story teller willing to share my story with everyone who will give me an opportunity to do so.
