Developments in Saint Lucia:
COVID 19 is surging in St. Lucia. However, it could have been so much worse. I can no longer claim that St. Lucia is COVID 19 Death Free. Total cases now stand at 162 with 2 deaths. The cases are moving along so aggressively that the PM Said Return To COVID-19 State Of Emergency is ‘On The Table’. Protocols will be put in place that will seriously curtail outdoor activities. It is a pity that the Government has to even think about reintroducing the State of Emergency. We must take control of our destiny and choose Life over Death.
Developments in the other CARICOM States:
The COVID 19 pandemic continues to dominate the news in the region with more deaths being recorded in some countries.
Opposition oust ruling party in Belize general election! Voters in Belize elected opposition candidate John Antonio Briceno as Prime Minister, in a vote that took place amid flooding, storm damage and the worst economic slump in Central America.
Will there be another Election within the Region before the end of the year? Anybody’s guess.
Developments in the U.S.A.:
It is not good news for the rest of the world when the bastion of Democracy cannot conform to its own election principles, and the leader of the Free World is behaving in a manner inconsistent with true democracy.
President Trump is refusing to concede and is stalling on matters that will assist the smooth transition to a Joe Biden administration in January 2021. There are always loopholes in the constitution that can be exploited to give political complainants time to carry out actions which in the long run will not be in the best interest of the nation. The world is laughing at the USA. Today we live in an age of expediency where traditional norms are thrown out of the window. The handover of power from President Obama to President Trump was seamless. It is amazing that with few exceptions, there is such silence in the ranks of the GOP.
Now President Trump is hoping that just maybe something will go wrong and he will simply take over the Government. What manner of man is he?
In the meantime, President-Elect – Joe Biden is forging ahead with the appointment of the COVID 19 Taskforce and soon will be naming members of his cabinet to undertake the serious tasks that lie ahead.
The election battle is not over yet, as the Democrats attempt to win the two Georgia Senate Seats, which is very doable. There are still some very interesting days ahead.
Just yesterday, there was a rally in support of President Trump claiming that he was robbed of his victory. Again, putting his supporters at risk with the COVID 19 virus. While the medical experts are talking science, he is acting herd immunity.
It is so depressing that I am seriously considering not to look at the Cable Networks until America returns to being America again. What a deception? I get upset at the fact that in these modern days, people allow themselves to be misled by deceptive politicians, even to the point of losing their lives. How much worse can it get?
Let us continue to pray for a favourable outcome of the existing impasse but don’t be fooled Donald J. Trump is in the political life of the USA to stay. He will not get off the stage any time soon, and in the end, he will be succeeded by his son.
Staying Alive Financially calls for Learning New Skills:
There are only a few options for seeking out a side hustle. The area of ICT stands out. Everything is on the decline, further lockdowns will only hurt the economies more but may become necessary if our people continue to defy science. This is a time to invest in attaining ICT skills so that you can qualify yourself to get involved in the service industries of the future. Get acquainted with AI – artificial intelligence and all the new developments associated with it.
I decided yesterday to start a Challenge to read Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill in a group, reading 4 chapters per week. I posted the link on one of my Facebook pages – www.facebook.com/ksibusiness whereas we progress, we can leave comments below the invitation. I want something good to happen in our lives. For me, I wish that we may all live successful lives.
