Bimventures is currently shepherding 10 “DNA of an Elephant” projects in its Venture Capital programme and has another 60 entrepreneurs with scalable ideas, who have expressed interest in joining our programme, in the wings waiting for Venture Capital resources to be assembled before inviting them to be considered to become members of the Bimventures family.
Each pillar will organise its own governance structure, set about addressing the needs of their stakeholders, delivering efficient services, building a team of volunteers (primarily) and partnering with the financial pillar and other pillars to secure sustainable success. Would it not be a wonderful feature if BEF had a dashboard through which the progress of all BEF registered businesses was charted?

Barbados has a well-grounded legal tradition which provides support for a stable financial sector with global outreach. Barbados has inherited a tradition of quality education at all levels which we must carefully protect and then retain the beneficiaries within our shores.

Maxwell in his quote for November 19 from “Leadership promises for every day” advises as follows: “People rise or fall to meet our level of expectations for them…If you believe in them and expect them to do well, they will wear themselves out trying to do their best…Give others money, and it’s soon spent. Give resources, and they may not be used to their greatest advantage.
These new industries include renewable energy, consulting, exotic agricultural exports, high tech manufacturing and the creative industries. In the creative industries, primarily talented right brain resources come alive and present the challenge to convert them into sustainable business enterprises.
Maxwell’s first Law of Leadership is the Law of the Lid which states that “Leadership ability determines a person’s level of effectiveness”. Leadership ability is always the lid on personal and organisational effectiveness. Whatever you want to accomplish is restricted by your leadership ability.

My daughter just knocked on my office door to convey the sad news of Prime Minister David Thompson’s passing at 2.10 a.m. on Oct 23, 2010. A great leader has gone.
