It is time for a wakeup call encouraging all people of goodwill to return to the former things where caring and sharing were the hallmarks of a loving existence. The incidents of homicide and suicide are much too high and must be reduced substantially. We must lower the temperature. Let us invite God back into our lives and give him a place of pre-eminence in our hearts. The scripture declares that the fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom.

Anyone with a smartphone and is active on social media platforms can be a success. There will be no excuses such as I can’t get a job, there are no jobs in my community, and all the other usual excuses. Both young and old, male and female will be able to make a contribution to their own upkeep, and living life with a sense of purpose.

The challenge of life is about finding solutions for a continuing wave of problems. Some problems may be solved in the five sensory space (sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch) but for others we need to shift to the soul in a multisensory spiritual space. May I remind you of renowned author Wayne Dyer’s book “There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem” and the biblical verse “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding”. God is Love and love is the food of the soul. Let us feed our souls with love and become naturally empowered to expedite the national problem-solving process.

The “low hanging fruit” are (1) Education and training – partnerships between the University of the West Indies and the University of the Virgin Islands); (2) Tourism – embracing, enhancing and benefitting from the work already done by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association; (3) Food – mobilizing a Caribbean Food Revolution U.S. market-pull initiative for Caribbean countries to supply products to the U.S. market; (4) Entrepreneurship – rationalization of the various initiatives in CARICOM and the USVI; (5) Cricket – a stronger bond between the USVI cricket authorities and Cricket West Indies; and (6) Oil refining given Guyana is one of the newest petroleum-producing regions in the world.

World Influencers such as Robert Kiyosaki, Tony Robbins, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Warren Buffet, have all commended the Multi-Level Marketing – (MLM)/Network Marketing industry, with two of the named individuals actually owning MLM companies. It is time for us to heed the advice of great motivational and entrepreneurial leaders.

Now, our children are faced with public health and economic recovery problems. They are well-schooled in information technology and this will facilitate the design and implementation of effective and efficient solutions centered around Disruptive Innovation. Classical Disruptive Innovation is a new business model and technology to disrupt an existing market and significantly alter the way we do business.

Nothing is stopping the U.S.A. from moving ahead with its economic agenda, and so is our CARICOM neighbour Guyana. With few exceptions, since the new variants have introduced themselves, restrictions have been placed on residents of some countries at home and others seeking to enter the U.S.A. Looking at cable news, we see President Biden and the officials around him are wearing their masks and maintaining social distancing, while carrying on the business of government – ever conscious of the presence of COVID 19.

As we enter the new year, let us recognize the importance of planning and embracing disruptive innovation strategies to systematically, effectively, and sustainably steer the tourism industry out of its current slump. We can do it!

This is a time to live purposeful lives that will impact our immediate families and the wider community. We must be each other’s keeper. It is time to RESET our lives. Let us do what we have the ability to do, and the divine spirit will take care of the rest. Just do something to make a difference that will transform lives for the better. Blessings!

It has been a long road to the White House for President Biden. After two failed attempts at the Presidency, he finally succeeded on the third. Never give up! President Biden is well prepared for the job and will definitely hit the ground running. His heart is in the right place, and equality and justice will prevail. Unifying the nation will be a huge challenge for him but if there is anyone who can achieve this feat, that person is President Biden.
