THE POWER OF THE P’s

Tuesday, January 5th, 2016

The Social Partners desire, through their association in a Social Compact, to create a modern, efficient economy which is able to (1) produce high and sustainable economic growth accompanied by increased employment, (2) establish through low inflation an equilibrium between prices and incomes, (3) achieve a society which enjoys a greater degree of inclusiveness in all its facets and (4) engender a conscious and deliberate effort to distribute equitably the benefits of economic growth.

CARIBBEAN PACIFIC CONNECTION

Monday, November 23rd, 2015

Dr. Eddie Molloy is an Irish management consultant, married to a Barbadian, with more than 40 years organizational development experience of large-scale change in all sectors. He lived in Barbados in the early 1980s when he was a partner in the Systems Group of Companies which I pioneered in 1977. He is now Hon. Consul General for Barbados in Dublin, Ireland. The Systems Group morphed into Systems Caribbean Limited in 1984 and into Systems Consulting Limited in 2000 which is still operational today.

FUTURE HOLISTIC COMFORT –

Monday, November 23rd, 2015

“A national economy can only grow, one successful business after another. Each country needs to focus on enterprise development success if our economies are to be sustainable. You may wish to promote shepherding in your country as you pursue your PhD.

BE WISE, LIVE LONGER

Saturday, November 14th, 2015

Let us expose our minds to positive wisdom from the cradle to the grave. Let us strive to be wise, live longer and treat our bodies with good nutrition and regular exercise. Let us celebrate the spiritual wisdom which engulfs the soul and has the potential to release creativity, in abundance, and recharge the system from an infinite source of love. Let us recognize the uniqueness that is in each of us which, when collectively taken at the flood, leads onto blessings.

BUSINESS HEALTH CARE

Saturday, November 14th, 2015

ManOBiz reminds the management team of the importance of many concepts over the five business systems, including: (1) Corporate Governance – start your business with a board meeting to confirm your mission, lay a sound foundation on which to build and finesse the interactive agenda and minutes combination to build efficiency in the conduct of board meetings so that good decisions will be made; hold board meetings monthly to confirm plans for the next month and monitor performance in the previous month; and hold management meetings weekly to sequentially prepare presentations on action items for the next board meeting.

EAT BAJAN DAY

Monday, October 12th, 2015

On the subject of Eat Bajan Day, I would like to take this opportunity to remember my own mother, Rita Springer SCM, who passed away in January 2013 at the age of 98. She too was an advocate for eating local and indeed was the author of “Caribbean Cookbook”, first published in 1968. Her cookbook was re-launched in 2008, enhanced with photographs of the dishes under the name “Caribbean Cookbook – A Lifetime of Recipes”.

VISIONS OF FREEDOM AND HOPE

Tuesday, September 29th, 2015

May the social partners unite under the leadership of the new Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. May a new spirit develop in the twin island nation and may this youthful energy expand across the Caribbean and take this region to greater heights than we could have ever imagined.

KEEPING HOPE ALIVE

Monday, September 14th, 2015

The Caribbean is at the crossroads. In the absence of a regional government, each country is fending for itself with lip service being paid to a regional agenda. Cricket, the University of the West Indies and tourism are three examples where the region has made its presence felt in the international arena.

IN TIME TO COME

Monday, August 31st, 2015

So began the “independence” landslide with all of the original 10 territories which comprised the West Indies Federation pursuing their individual destinies. The exception was Montserrat, the smallest of the territories, which has remained an overseas dependency of Britain up to this day. There has been no other successful attempt at a Caribbean political union which in my opinion has stymied economic growth in the region. Maybe, in time to come.
