Whether there is a change of the governing political party after the election or not, the country is faced with the same socio-economic challenges as were present going into the election. Currently the economy is stagnant and the new government has to get to work. The manifesto promises are very upbeat but the voter is made to feel that capital resources that the country has at its disposal are limited. It is our mind-set perspective that sometimes leads us astray.

In modern marketing language “Call to Action (CTA)” is a banner, button or some type of graphic or text on a website, meant to prompt a user to click it and continue down the track which a consumer takes through an Internet advertising or search system, navigating an e-commerce website and finally converting to a sale. An example of this is a QR (Quick Response) Code which is a matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera, and smartphones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data. Its success can be measured via a conversion rate formula.

President Bill Clinton, Warren Buffet and Donald Trump saw the writing on the wall. In times like these when uncertainty and anxiety reign as the economies of the world remain in stagnation mode, people have to learn to cooperate with each other in an effort to sustain their livelihood. Rod Cook defines MLM as the only hope for the little man. I bought into that bold statement many years ago and have held fast to the principles of this great industry.

I was in the throes of writing my weekly column on Saturday grappling with a “Strictly Business” topic, around the issue of innovation policy as a driver for sustainable business growth, when I received a call from my daughter Karen. She was obviously in distress and I had to ask her to repeat herself. I then understood that she was trying to convey to me that her grandmother Rita Springer, otherwise known as Rites or Gaggie, was on her last breath.
