St. Lucia Simply Beautiful

It is not easy to ignore the hardships that are currently being experienced by persons in our midst and it is necessary to share and care for the less fortunate, especially those persons who lost their homes in the passage of the recent hurricane. Let us so live that in all things, we can give thanks.

In a society where the recurring theme is ‘St Lucian’s don’t read,’ authors from around the island came together to put their original works on display to attempt to break that notion. The book fair was organized by Digital Connections St Lucia Inc and Visionary Investment Consultants.
The two companies are fairly new to the arena. Syreeta Alcee from Digital Connections just published a book entitled A Better Life. Edward Harris of Visionary Investment Consultants joined the writing fraternity about four months ago and has since published three projects. The two companies decided to invite local published authors to display their works.

There is need for dialogue among writers and every opportunity to get together and learn from each other should be welcomed.

Each pillar will organise its own governance structure, set about addressing the needs of their stakeholders, delivering efficient services, building a team of volunteers (primarily) and partnering with the financial pillar and other pillars to secure sustainable success. Would it not be a wonderful feature if BEF had a dashboard through which the progress of all BEF registered businesses was charted?

It is a favourable tax environment which makes it a jurisdiction of choice for investors. Barbados has a well-grounded legal tradition which provides support for a stable financial sector with global outreach. Barbados has inherited a tradition of quality education at all levels which we must carefully protect and then retain the beneficiaries within our shores.

This year, residents and visitors will get an opportunity to give books produced by St. Lucia Authors as gifts which will be available at the 4 day Gift and Book Show scheduled for December 14 – 17 at the City Hall, Castries, opening hours 9.00am to 6.00pm. During the show, poetry will be read and Lectures will be delivered by outstanding St. Lucian Writers. Admission is FREE!
